Stronghold 4 latest trailer shows off some Skirmish gameplay

Firefly Studios has released a new trailer for Stronghold 4, delving into the Skirmish mode with a plethora of gameplay snippets.

The skirmish mode promises battles with up to 7 CPU players, with 8 enemy lords featured in the game with their different approaches and personalities, at 14 battlefields to fight across.

Stronghold 4 will launch into Steam Early Access later this year, with Firefly anticipating a six month stay before the full 1.0 release lands. This will allow them to gather data and feedback on how the core game is functioning, while also building up to add further modes including economic campaign, cooperative skirmish trail and multiplayer battles.

This game is a prequel to the original Stronghold, as Penryn of Wethel (played by Ben Starr) leaves behind his life as a shepherd for all the glitz and glamour of…. war and castle-building. It features a campaign of 22 missions, the skirmish mode, a free build sandbox mode and a scenario-based skirmish trail right from the off with the Early Access release.
