Earlier today, we mentioned how Bulkhead was pushing out War Dogs into early access on PC this September 10, and it seems the developers underestimated the first-person shooter’s popularity.

As players flock to play the game, the servers got hit that made the shooter unplayable for a lot of people. Not only that, but some players who do manage to get in, are getting kicked out while playing, and some are experiencing long queue times.

To help mitigate this, Bulkhead has released a new War Dogs hotfix on launch day, September 10.

War Dogs Down and Facing Queue Issues on Launch Day

Bulkhead mentioned the following after rolling out today’s 200+ MB download for the hotfix:

1. All currently logged-in players will be forced to close WARDOGS and restart the game.
2. You will then be prompted to download the latest client update.
3. Once the update has been installed and you relaunch the game, all players will return to the login queue.
4. We will then begin allowing players into the game in controlled batches.
5. As we confirm that players are successfully entering and populating servers, we will gradually increase the number of players being let through.

This client hotfix is intended to address several of the issues we have been seeing, including:

• Players unable to join servers.
• Players being unexpectedly kicked from servers during play.
• Extended login queue times.

The developers are performing “another” restart of the game’s servers, and if you get logged out unexpectedly, this is the reason why, so don’t be surprised. There should be a momentary downtime associated with the server reset as well.

War Dogs early access phase seems to be off to a grand start. For those on consoles, you’ll be able to partake in the carnage sometime in 2028.

For those unfamiliar with the game, War Dogs is a 100-player tactical, all-out warfare shooter similar to the Battlefield franchise.
