Both CastleMania Games and Stone Age Gamer now have gcomp switches in stock and ready. The gcompsw is widely regarded as one of the highest quality switches you can buy, with each of the eight inputs supporting YPbPr video and L/R audio, as well as a composite video input. It’s then safely buffered to two outputs, allowing for simultaneous dual output with no noticeable signal degradation. It’s auto-switching is very reliable and it supports all component video resolutions, making this a great choice for people looking for a premium option. More info after the links:

A few things to note. First, the price of $350 reflects the global cost hikes, with no additional profits being made. That definitely prices this out of many people’s budgets, which is unfortunate, but understandable. You could always pick up a cheap 3-in, 1-out YPbPr switch to hold you off, or if you simply don’t need the extra features and performance of the gcomp.
A good alternative is the Scalable Video Switch, which allows you to mix and match inputs. It’s basically the same price when similarly spec’d and performs about the same, making it an equal-but-different premium option.
And of course you can always try to find used professional grade equipment as an alternative, but there’s some caution doing that. First, not all support audio and the ones that do often require custom adapters. You’ll also need to buy RCA to BNC adapters, which are cheap, but inconsistent: Some are too snug, while others may be too loose and allow your cable to slowly back itself out. Lastly, the cost of these switches are much higher these days, since there aren’t as many to go around. So it’s actually possible you’ll be spending very close to the same as the gcomp or SVS after final costs are totaled up.
And on top of all that, you’ll need to find switches still in good condition. Please remember all older electronics will eventually need servicing, so there’s a good chance that not only is it possible you’ll spend about the same, you might end up needing to repair or recap the used switch relatively soon. So it’s my recommendation that unless you specifically need matrix switching, or you can find used pro equipment at a very good price, you should consider newer options.
